Our Philosophy

Cascada is much more than a label. It is an eco luxury product with a difference.

Designed in Australia by Robyn Gibbes, Cascada’s mission is to create beautiful products while actively helping the Bolivian people and making a direct impact on their personal lives.

Cascada along with our partner in Bolivia is an industry leader in its ecological production of Llama fibre. Our factory uses recycled water and hydro electricity for all our power. All our cleaning is done either by heat or water pressure, thereby not needing any harsh chemicals or cleaners. All of our products are naturally dyed - Llama and Alpaca offer 17 natural colours, more than any other animal.

Since Cascada began, we have been working with our factory to ensure that its working conditions and impact on nature keep improving and meet international standards. These efforts have already resulted in many improvements in environmental performance and workers' conditions, which will lead to the factory obtaining one of the world’s pre-eminent social standards certification, SA8000, in 2010,   when all improvements have been implemented.

On top of this, our factory is currently engaged in gaining Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) certification, and in time, international organic certification.

We are also proud to be socially responsible. Mindful of our responsibility to nurture the textile industry in the Bolivian Highlands, we manufacture all of our supporting material in Bolivia. All our swing tags, business cards, labels and support materials are produced in Bolivia ensuring local communities and their businesses gain long-term income and opportunity.

Already we have made a difference, but there is still a long way to go.

We hope that you will support our efforts to help the Bolivian people and making a direct impact on their lives.

LOGO
The Cascada logo reflects our philosophy of helping Indigenous communities from South America. It is an ancient Bolivian cave drawing - symbolizing that all people from the four corners of the globe are essentially the same.
